Kinglake
Matt is a Kinglake local builder who has studied sustainability and was developing a local green practice before the bushfires.
During the recovery he has been a valued member of the Kinglake community, working with various church groups and community agencies to offer practical support to vulnerable members of the community needing practical assistance as recovery commenced.
More recently Matt has been working with the Kinglake Men's Shed
which is a rapidly growing haven for local men seeking community
engagement, a place to share stories and make friends, and a place
to learn new skills.
Join Matt for a video tour of the new Kinglake Men's Shed which has
secured a fantastic large warehouse just outside of town.
The shed has timber working facilities that will be used to build timber skills using local rescued timber, supplied by the new community timber mill.
The shed is powered by a large heat pump unit and has a kitchen with computer gear that can be used to access the Build it Back Green website and so much more.
Hear about the momentum building with this fantastic and respected group of guys.
The best way to learn about rebuilding more sustainably is from people who have done it already!
Soon we will be rolling out the Build It Back Green website functionality, and asking you to tell us about your rebuilding experiences and the journey you are on to be more sustainable.
